Welcome to the Allegiance Academy!
The Allegiance Academy forms a useful resource on ships, stations and equipment. It is based off the successful AllegianceAcademy Website ran by Blackviper until 2009. It is intended to be an open overview about technical aspects of equipment and ships commonly used in Allegiance.

The Allegiance Academy started as a website created by TheMaster_C and Jell in June 2001. It started out with the goal of teaching newbies how to learn the game, although it soon added many other sections such as history, community, current events, etc.
Faction
Factions are the different 'races' that can be played in Allegiance. Each faction has its unique strengths and weaknesses and is played in a different manner. Some, like Technoflux and the Rixian unity, have no missiles. Others, like the Belters, have no shields. Some are fast, some are slow. Each faction plays in a different manner and pilots often have faction preferences.
You can read more about the different Factions here.

In 2006 BlackViper took over management of the Academy and it underwent a major content update, focusing on the newbie training program (that changed names to cadet). At the end of 2007 Allegwiki was started and all non-gameplay information was (slowly) shifted over to this wiki.

In 2009 BV gave the go-ahead to begin shifting gameplay information over to the new Allegwiki. It was split into two distinct parts: the Cadet programs (Cadet I Cadet II) and the reference material on all the ships, stations, factions, etc. that you are reading at the moment. At the same time the information was updated to the CC_03 core, which was the most commonly played core at the time of the shift (April 2009).
Ships
There are a variety of ships available to fly in the game. Some can be flown by anyone on the team for free. Some cost money and require the player to ask the commander for the cash to buy them. Each ship has it's strengths, weaknesses, and will play a key role in letting your team win.
A full index of the ships available can be found here.

Ship equipment
Kitting out your ship before you take off is essential. To win the game there are a myriad of tools available to you, the pilot. Knowing which weapons and equipment to take for the mission you are undertaking is also essential.Incomplete.
