Welcome to Allegopedia!
Allegopedia is your quick reference for information on factions, ships, stations and equipment in Allegiance. It is based off the successful Allegiance Academy Website ran by Blackviper until 2009. This section of the wiki focuses on facts and stats for all things Allegiance. If you want tutorials on how to play Allegiance, please check out the learning guide. Allegopedia is written for the latest release of the Community Core, which is most commonly played on Allegiance servers.
Factions
Factions are the different 'races' that can be played in Allegiance. Each faction has unique strengths and weaknesses and is played in a different manner. Commanders select their team's faction at the beginning of each game, and everyone on that team plays as that faction. Most players and commanders have a favorite faction. Allegiance was first released with four factions, and Microsoft added a fifth during Allegiance's commercial run. After Microsoft dropped commercial support for Allegiance, players began designing their own factions. The latest version of the Community Core has nine factions. They can be found here.
Ships
The ships you fly depend on your team's faction, techpath and the ship's cost. Some ships are free and can be flown by anyone. Ships that cost money require approval from the team commander before players can launch. A full index of the ships available can be found here., a brief summary of ship types (organized by tech path) can be found below.
Garrison Ships
- Scouts - The scout is the most versatile ship in the game, and every faction starts with a scout ship.
- Bombers - Bombers are base destroying craft that require teamwork to be successful. Teams have to research bombers before they are available, and bombers cost money to fly.
- Gunship - Gunships are turreted craft that are very effective against most mk 1 and mk 2 ship types. Teams have to research gunships before they are available, and gunships cost money to fly.
Faction-Specific Garrison Ships
- Patroller - Patrollers are a fighter/scout hybrid craft that are very effective early-game miner hunters. Only Gigacorp can use patrollers, and they must be researched before they are available. Patrollers are free to fly.
Supremacy
- Fighters - Fighters are multi-purpose craft capable of destroying a wide range of enemy targets, including miners, small ships, capital ships, and small bases. Fighters are also able to ripcord to teleport receivers. Many factions start with basic fighters, though enhanced and advanced fighters can be researched at a Supremacy Center. Once researched, fighters are free to fly.
- Fighter-Bombers - Fighter-Bombers are fighter-class craft capable of firing anti-base missiles. While a single fighter-bomber is an easy target, a mass of fighter-bombers are a formidable threat to enemy bases. Fighter-Bombers are frequently used as part of an endgame strategy. Once researched, fighter-bombers cost money to fly.
Expansion
- Interceptors - Interceptors are tough, highly-agile craft that excel at dog fighting. While interceptors are optimized to destroy small craft, their damage output is high enough to make them effective against most other ship types. With boosters, interceptors can travel quickly across a sector to protect a friendly asset or destroy a hostile target.

Ship equipment
Kitting out your ship before you take off is essential. To win the game there are a myriad of tools available to you, the pilot. Knowing which weapons and equipment to take for the mission you are undertaking is also essential. <<Cool hyperlinked picture here>>?
Stations
The bases you and your team can launch from can server a variety of functions. some smaller bases are just used to help your team control parts of the map, to assist mining, and/or to provide launch points for your team, while bigger "Techbases" can give your team access to more advanced technology, with the capability to research greater and better equipment and ships.
An index of all the stations can be found here <<Cool hyperlinked picture here>>
