Learn How to Play
Allegiance is a complicated game to play. I know you may be eager to jump in and try the game out and see what it's like, but please, please, play the seven training missions first. Otherwise you'll just annoy other players by asking fundamental questions like "How do I fire my boosters?"; and you'll be very lucky if you find someone willing to explain things that are already covered by the training missions.
Keep in mind:
The Training Missions teach you everything about how to "play" the game... ... but nothing about how to work with your teammates, how to be useful to your commander, how to win the game.
The training missions are the tip of the iceberg with regards to learning how to play Allegiance. As an analogy: playing the training missions is like learning how to hit a golfball. Taking Cadet I is like learning which golf club to use, what the layout of the course is like, what obstacles you need to avoid, and most importantly where the hole is.
Join a Game
With the previous 3 steps complete, it's a simple matter of running ASGS, logging in with your gameplay account, and joining a game in the Free Games section.
- You'll probably want to start at the Newbie Server.
