The conflict surrounding the Belters' auction continues.

Although the Dreghklar have failed to reclaim their equipment from the Belters fleet, reports suggest that they are poised to strike again to recover their lost ships. This time though, they'll get a nasty surprise. The Iron Coalition bought the Dreg salvage at the Belters auction just a few days ago. As IC forces were making preparations to leave, they picked up ghost signatures on the extreme range of their long range sensors. These have been the trademark precursors to an imminent Dreg or Bios attack, however it is exceedingly unlikely that the Bios will seek this salvage as they already have tons from previous engagements.

The Iron Coalition, never to run away from a good fight, has set up shop near the Martian port and has fortified their position. The fleet Unity has sent re-enforcements, and the Fleet Commander himself is in attendance to oversee the engagement. Whoever is after the salvage must either be extremely brave, or stupid.

Dreghklar forces were once again defeated in what has turned into a shameful series of engagements for the aliens. The Coalition forces, with their superior fire-power and preparation for battle, had no problem cutting the Dreg task force to pieces, I saw it with my very own eyes from the Martian port.

The Dreg forces failed to destroy the IC fleet or collect the salvage, and were forced to flee from the sector with what little forces that remained under their command. A small Coalition scouting force gave chase for a short period of time to ensure that Dreghklar forces had truly left the field and that no further re-enforcements were on their way.

However the question must be asked, what kind of salvage could have been worth sacrificing two Dreghklar task forces to recover? As always, our friend Captain Johnson had something to say about the recent Coalition victory:

The engagement has not been deemed important enough to merit an official ONI public announcement, however I must say that this particular engagement was hardly a true battle for Coalition forces. It was clear to us that the Dreghklar Empire was sending a force as a last ditch attempt to destroy the salvage acquired by Belters forces, and purchased by us. We could instantly tell from their approaching formation that they were ill-prepared. Under the guidance of Fleet Commander Reylin, their forces were no match for our brave warriors.

We too have recognized how important this salvage must be to the Dreghklar for them to attempt to destroy it yet again and will do everything in our power to keep their scaly hides off it. We are moving it to a secure facility deep inside Coalition space, where we will examine the salvage to see what it is these lizards wanted to destroy so badly.

The irony of the outcome of the battle, is that the Iron Coalition now have more than double the original salvage that they had bargained for and will now probably discover the Dreghklar secrets held inside. I doubt they'll release what they find to the public, but that doesn't necessarily mean that we wont find out.
