Update

The 11th ZG went down on 9th February 2008.

Factions: Ga'Taraan Federation vs Iron Coalition

Even though the IC had secured great victories in the recent ZGs, they were still unable to break the Ga'Taraan forces once again.

Ever since that nincompoop Captain Johnson was fired (or perhaps locked in a secret torture facility and made to answer for his errors) the Iron Coalition has seen a resurgence of the military power they once wielded. Or maybe they just got better commanders. There's nothing like scything through the ranks of your bloated and ineffective army and getting rid of the officers and men that, put plainly, suck.

I'm sure everyone remembers many months ago that a fierce Ga'Taraan fleet annihilated an Iron Coalition force at Aleph Chain 8. Well, now that the IC have grown a pair, they're not letting those geeks get away with it. Exclusive recon gathered by our boys at DataNet Intelligence has revealed two massive Iron Coalition fleets embarking towards their old base at AC8. The Ga'Taraan Federation has understandably responded by mobilizing a similarly sized force to deal with the Iron Coalition interlopers.

The Iron Coalition has been waiting dearly for the chance to do some good old fashioned oppressing and now I think the only thing to do now is sit back and watch the fireworks.

Despite an impressive number of victories in the past few months, the Iron Coalition's failed in its campaign to take back sectors in Chain 8 from Ga'Taraan control. Reports from the front suggest that the Ga'Taraan Federation has a bone to pick with the Iron Coalition, a fact which may explain how they, of all the factions, were the ones to crush the resurgent IC war machine.

Fortunately for a great number of IC pilots, the Ga'Taraan antipathy towards the Coalition is not a homicidal fervor. As the outcome to the battle became clear, one of the IC forces involved in the battle surrendered and was taken into custody by the GT. The final transmissions out from captured IC units show the Ga'Taraan is honoring interstellar accords and not simply spacing the IC pilots.

>>OceanXI:125:554:0192: At least they have the decency to recognize when they are beaten, unlike those Rixians.

The past few weeks have been a mixed bag for the Coalition. Due to temporary instability caused by internal replacements throughout the Coalition we suffered a string of defeats at the hands of the enemy.

We began to be ridiculed by enemy factions. In their ignorance they had assumed, foolishly, that the Iron Coalition was sinking like the ancient ship, the Titanic. As usual, due to some convoluted logic that continues to elude the Coalition, our enemies once again underestimated us. I notice that the string of victories that the Coalition has been having, both in major engagements and skirmishes, has silenced the derisive tongues of enemy propaganda machines.

Despite the recent attempt to regain lost ground from the Ga'Taraan Federation resulting in a failure, we have put many other factions to shame due to their errors of judgement and proved our strength, although the Coalition always tries to fight to the last man, we are not blood-frenzied warmongers and strike with tactical precision, but we saw the futility of our situation and saw no need for an unnecessary slaughter to take place. We are currently trying to communicate with the Ga'Taraan representatives to negotiate the release of our soldiers.

As for the remaining factions, I hope for their sakes that they do not make the same mistakes again and have learnt valuable lessons. The Coalition is neither invincible nor crumbling, but is still a powerful force to be reckoned with. I urge the other factions to abandon their aimless hopes of annihilating us, and instead to enter talks with us to unite humanity against this newest alien threat which the Coalition has not yet had the pleasure of meeting in battle.
