ImmortalZ? That's a weird name...
My nick has a rather convoluted history. I started out as Z-Wing when I joined the SWTA mod team for Total Annihilation. Later on, when I got Allegiance, I had to join the MSN Zone. Someone had already taken the name Z-Wing (the bastard!}, so I just took the first name it suggested to me : Immortalz_Wing (yes, with the weird capitalization). I just hit accept in the hurry to play the game. Fast forward many years later, I had to create a new nick in the ASGS system and my old one was too long. So it got shortened to ImmortalZ. The squaddies have shortened that to Immort (aarm), ImmZ (many) and now, Imm. What next? "Guy"? :D
WTF do you do?
I'm an Electronics and Communications Engineer who ended up in networking. I am currently the BOFH... err... system and network administrator of a large Goverment organization in my state. My hobbies and interests are computers (all sorts of fields) and electronics (FSO mainly). I also used to do a lot of MIDI music compositions (which were complete crap) when I was younger. I used to work as a 3D animator until recently, when I quit the job to focus on college again.
In the Alleg community, I have been given the honour of being the Tech Support ZL. But I'm barely more than a moderator for the forums. Its the group of people who give their time and effort to solve the problems that run the helpline (I just close the topics after the problem is solved :P). I also write articles for the KB (now superseded by this wiki) and contribute in the cadet program as an instructor, writing material and answering questions in the forums. I'm also an @Alleg, enforcing the RoC in-game.
Sadly, a toss up in my real life has left me with much reduced time to carry out my duties listed above. I hope to return to previous levels of activeness ASAP.
What about PK?
My squad warrants a special headline. I joined PK a few months after I joined the game. I was recruited by PK_I_am_Mac and PK_Kailas seeing my dedication to flying scouts and how mature I was for a 16 year old. I've had the glorious opportunity to fly with some of the greatest people in this game in all these years of carrying the PK tag. I've come to love the squad as my second family, the people as my brothers and the tag as one of the biggest things I've ever achieved in this game. I've seen PK go through some of its greatest highs and depressing lows. We've stuck together through all of the trying times and now we're one of the best in the game.
