Allegiance uses two kinds of stats:

  1. The after-game stats recording your number of kills, points, deaths, etc.
    • These stats have no affect on your rank. They are recorded for posterity only and can be viewed on the leaderboard.

  2. Your AllegSkill stats recording how many games you've won, and how skilled either team was.
    • These stats are directly related to your rank. See the AllegSkill article for more information.

Why don't stats count?

You may have noticed this message:

and been wondering how you're going to gain a rank if your stats won't count.

This message is a red herring - it is left over from the original Microsoft days when they kept track of players' stats on their own website. Nowadays it means nothing; instead ASGS automatically updates your stats after each game, given certain criteria:

What are the criteria for stats to count?
  • The game only consisted of 2 teams.
  • The game was more than five minutes long.
  • The game did not end in a draw.
  • The game had at least 5 players per team for at least half the game.
  • You played for at least 30 seconds.

Are stats recorded on all servers?

Yes. Whether you play on the main game, newbie games, Zone Games, or whatever - your stats will be recorded (assuming the above criteria are met).

Note Sometimes a server will lose its connection with ASGS and be unable to record stats. In such case an error message will display in the chat log after the game.
