Vlymoxyd created a new type of game with his race core. With new ships and maps, the core had pilots flying at high speeds taking tight curves defined by asteroids and aleph positions, along with pit stops at key locations. It has never been really mainstream, though, and because of the tweaked aspect of it, or lack of official support through source code changes (it wasn't available at the time), the racemod remains dependent upon players abiding to unwritten rules.

The biggest problem with RaceCore is that the custom maps required for racing require that the Aleph Randomizer in the server is turned off. This cannot be done on the current server release although a fix has been suggested.
