A Callsign reset is a procedure where players' list of active hider callsigns is erased. Since players are only allowed to use three callsigns at any one time, a reset allows players to choose new hiders or revive old ones. A Callsign Reset does not affect your Primary Callsign, which will always remain on your active list.
Note: A Callsign Reset is different from unlinking callsigns.
When are Callsign Resets performed?
Callsign Resets occur twice a year, typically in the middle of the summer and the middle of the winter. An announcement is made on the forums, in the MOTD, and via ASGS Broadcast in advance to give the community a chance to prepare.
What happens to the old callsigns?
Nothing happens to any callsigns that you have created; they are neither deleted nor disabled. You can still log on with them if you wish, and no one else can "steal" them since they do not know the password. The callsigns remain in the database ready for use until it is old enough to be reclaimed by the Callsign Reclamation process.
Adding new callsigns
After a reset, you can create new hiders in the same way (and with the same restrictions) as usual. Each callsign you sign in with will be added to your active list until it becomes full.
Can you remove ________ from my list of three so I can use another hider?
Yes. It will be removed the next time a callsign reset is performed.
