Important differences:

  • A Boot is when a Commander kicks you off his team.
  • A Lobby boot is when a Game Controller kicks you off the server.
  • A ban is when the admins have blocked your account from joining the online servers. This will normally be because you broke one of either the Terms of Service or the Rules of Conduct.

Booting Newbies

Commanders are not allowed to boot any player with a rank of (4) or lower, unless:

  • Placeholder

If a Commander does so then they can expect a Ban from an Admin.

Dealing with a Boot

If your Commander boots you it is probably for a good reason. This reason may be as valid as "You were about to give away the position of our main or attack", or as draconian as "You weren't doing exactly as I was ordering", or as harsh as "You were doing something stupid". Most Commanders are happy to explain the reason for your boot after the game has ended.

To continue playing you merely need to log out, change your callsign (either use a hider, or remove a token/tag), and log back in. You can even join the same team.

Or you can wait for the game to end, or you could play on a different server.

Do not make a big deal of it on the forums, it will not help your case or your reputation. If you truly do feel that the boot was malicious you should PM BlackViper, the Enforcement Zone Lead.
