Week One End
Congratulations on making it to the end of week 1. One down, two to go.
Some of the highlights you should be taking away with you at this stage:
- Not every game you join will be playing the same core, but the main game is normally CC_03.
- The newbie servers are a great place to practice flight and combat, but a hopeless place to learn tactics and strategy.
- Allegiance is a TEAM game. The commander is the boss, and he looks after the money.
- How to get around the menu system, load up your ship, and be able to manage your cargo in-flight.
- Communicating with your team via text or voice chats, and be starting to learn some of the abbreviations.
- The icons on your HUD give you a lot of information about your environment.
- The minimap is critical to understanding the overall game flow, and helps you decide what you should do next.
- Information overload is a problem for new players. Concentrate on what the commander is saying.
- The most important task at game start is scouting the map.
Do go back and review this week's material. We have found that people retain more with each reading. Now would also be a good time to read common mistakes, if you haven't already. Then proceed to the next week's lessons.
