Relevance of Leaderboard

The rank given players is determined by the hELO system, which gives players points for a win based on how difficult the enemy team was to beat. An inferior team beating a superior team will gain more points than the superior team would it if it won, and conversely lose less points if they lose.

However the accuracy of the hELO algorithm is fiercely debated and argued over, and many players beleive that it is next to useless and that the ranks players earn using it are irrelevant to their skill level.

Furthurmore several skilled players will consistently Anti-stack, which often results in them having a much lower rank than their contempoaries. The opposite is also true, that unskilled players that constantly stack will end up with a higher rank than they deserve.

Overall most Veteran players do not place much stock by the leaderboard; generally because the Allegiance communitity is so small and all the veterans know each other skill levels quite well. It is mostly a reference when you're curious about who has top kills, or etc..
