ASGS guide
ASGS (Allegiance Secure Gameplay System) is the program that performs user authentication and cheat protection duties for Allegiance. It also provides error logging and chat logging facilities.
This article describes how to use it. If you wish to learn more about it, visit ASGS.
Get a New Account
If you already have an ASGS account, you can skip this section.
Note Forum accounts and game accounts are not linked. You must have a separate game account (ASGS) to login to our servers and play Allegiance. However, you do want to have matching ingame and forum account names: this is a requirement for joining the Cadet programs.
- Go to this page.
- Read and agree to the Code of Conduct.
- Fill in the form. For the nickname, you are limited to 3-12 characters of only letters, numbers and underscores and the first character must be a letter. Nicknames are case insensitive.
Warning! Doublecheck your email address. We will send you an activation email.
- Click "Create Account".
- Within a few minutes you will receive a validation email from asgs@alleg.net. Click on the activation link.
If everything went fine, you can now proceed to login.
- Open the Allegiance link that was created on your desktop during installation, or click on ASGSClient.exe in your \Allegiance directory.
- Enter your login details.
- The Username field is not case sensitive: all of "Pook", "pook", "POOK", "PoOk" will be accepted.
- Press "Login".
If everything went fine ASGS will login and within a few moments and you'll find yourself looking at Allegiance. If something went wrong, try the Tech Support section of this Wiki.
Alternative Callsigns creation
A "hider" is an alternative callsign that a player can use to disguise his identity, for example to rejoin a game you have been booted from. The procedure is very straightforward.
- Create a new account as you already did. You don't have to use the same email address.
- Log in with it.
Note Each player is allowed up to three alternative callsigns. In case a player has more than three hiders, he may only use the three oldest hiders. The alternative "hider" callsigns will be reset occasionally.
If everything went fine ASGS will recognize that you logged in with this new account from the same computer which you previously logged in with using your primary callsign, and will assume the two callsigns belong to the same person. The two callsigns will be linked and ASGS will treat them as a single account.
Warning! Never allow anyone else to login to Allegiance from your computer. We automatically enforce a requirement of one player per computer. One player can play from multiple computers, but more than one player logging in on the same computer will cause Allegiance to link the accounts together - even if the times of logging in were months apart.
