Normally, users are allowed to maintain three separate callsigns to use ingame. This allows players to log in with a new callsign in the event they were kicked off a team and are unable to rejoin. In addition, it allows players to "hide" ingame as an alter-ego. (This is why secondary callsigns are also called "Hiders").

__NOTOC__
A callsign reset is a procedure where players' list of active hider callsigns is erased. Since players are only allowed to use three callsigns at any one time, a reset allows players to choose new hiders or revive old ones. A callsign reset does not affect your primary callsign, which will always remain on your active list.

Since only three callsigns are allowed per user, once three have been created and used it is impossible for a user to log in with a new "fourth" callsign.

What happens to my primary(main) callsign after a reset is performed?
Nothing happens to it; it is neither deleted nor is it disabled. Your primary callsign is the only callsign that will remain on your list of three.

No. All callsigns are protected with a password. As long as you keep your password safe, nobody else will be able to log into or "steal" your old callsign.

How are callsigns added to my list of three?
Callsigns
By logging into it. When you log in with a callsign, the system will add it to your list of three unless the list is already full.

What happens if I try to log in with a fourth callsign?
The system will allow you to log in, but it will override the callsign you typed with the last-used callsign on your list of three. You will end up ingame with your last-used callsign instead of the one you typed into ASGS.

Can you remove ________ from my list of three so I can use another hider?
Yes. It will be removed the next time a callsign reset is performed. See "When are resets performed?" above.

A callsign reset is a procedure where players' list of active hider callsigns is erased. Since players are only allowed to use three callsigns at any one time, a reset allows players to choose new hiders or revive old ones. A callsign reset does not affect your primary callsign, which will always remain on your active list.

Note Callsign reset does not affect callsign linking.

A callsign reset only deactivates all callsigns (and optionally performs a callsign reclamation). Linked accounts will not be unlinked as a result of a callsign reset.

FAQ

Q. When are callsign resets performed?
A. Callsign resets occur twice a year, typically in the middle of the summer and the middle of the winter. An announcement is made on the forums, in the Message Of The Day, and via ASGS broadcast in advance to give players a chance to change their primary callsign if they desire.
Q. What happens to the old callsigns?
A. Nothing happens to any callsigns that you have created in the past. They are neither deleted nor disabled and no one else can "steal" them (since they do not know the password). Old callsigns remain in the database ready for use, until it is so old that it is reclaimed by the callsign reclamation process.

Simply, all callsigns are simply deactivated, so that they no longer count towards your callsign limit. You can still log on with them if you wish, which will re-activate them.

Q. What about my new shiny hiders?
A. After a reset, you can activate new hiders in the same way (and with the same restrictions) as usual. Each callsign you sign in with will be added to your active list until it becomes full again.
Q. Can you remove ________ from my list of three so I can use another hider?
A. Yes. It will be removed the next time a callsign reset is performed.
