I NEVER use my AC at home, just a ceiling fan at night and only s few days a year. The article has a lot of inaccurate information in it and simply screws the pooch with common misconceptions.
I read enough responses here to know there probably two people who have any clue at all. Enthalpy, R factor, thermal mass, degree days, ftw.

Ssssh
I'm living in a place without central AC for only the second time in my life. It's weird. And hot as hell this summer.

Don't find fault, find a remedy; anybody can complain.

I had someone from texas who knew I was in CA hear that I said it was hot here. He sort of tried to challenge me, and asked how hot. I told him that the weather had cooled down, and it was only about 95 that week (35 for you euros)
