Windows Version (and Service Packs):Home Basic Build 6.0.6000
Processor Speed:2.8
RAM:1.0
Video Card (Make and Model#):Intel
Sound Card (Make and Model#): none
Connection Type (Dialup, Cable, DSL, other): DSL
Modem (Make and Model#):
Router (Make and Model#):
Internet Service Provider(company name): Verizon
Location(State/Province/Locality, and Country): USA indiana
Installed Mods:None

I install game. Chose the Service Pack 1 for compatibility then launches. I do this because the key will not assemble unless i do.
Once in game i get a updater. Right at the end of the update i noticed the lobby files don't update but instead games crashers and Microsoft window pops up stating it has encountered a problem. After that i try logging in the game. I see the game list. But when i try to connect to one i get the "couldn't connect to the server" error. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with and without Java run time options.

I have no virus software installed.

There is a bug with the autoupdate and ASGS where it will crash when Alleg does the AU cycle thing. However, this is unrelated to connecting to a server.

That sounds like an issue with your firewall. What firewall do you have installed?

Got windows firewall turned off. And have all 3 of alleg's main files set as allowed.
My modem firewall is turned off.
What kind of ports should i have opened for the auto updater..
