mdvalley wrote:QUOTE (mdvalley @ Jul 27 2006, 04:21 AM) I’m wondering, instead of adding a whole new text box or something to the screen, why not just use the red text that shows up below the chat? The commander could type “#red DEFEND THE GODDAMN TAC” and it would show up as big bright red text, which could stay on the screen until the com typed something else for it. It wouldn’t be that hard to code, imo.
That would be the blackboard feature badpazz suggested here then.
It solves none of the problems I mentioned, though. Neither does it tell the comm what the pilots are doing nor does it tell the pilots what the teammates are doing.
But yeah, a lot easier to code. And I actually like badpazz' idea. It's just solves a totally different problem.
Would it be possible to do something with the red and yellow text in the top left corner (the yellow checkmark and the red > ) of the first person view?
If I have it right this displays the last pending order and/or the current order accepted.
If the commander had this view expanded and displaying every active order (whoi and what), would it be the sufficient to solve the team organizing issue?
Edit: typo and wording.

Also, using wings might help in assigning ppl to different roles. Maybe its possible to relay all info from the commandwing to everyone? And let the commander create wings and assign pilots into them.
Then you would know what to do if you get assigned to the "con D wing" or the "scout wing".

That will be in the FAZ R2, afaik.
As to your other suggestions, I stated my opinion above. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Read it again.
