my god, can we please get these assets in the steam build? just set the default to a reasonably modern PC

Guess i need to post an update.

My texture pack, blows up allegiance by causing the DX9 render to go out of memory.

I have asked wasp to find a fix that imago made to solve this problem.

Will keep you informed

To be more exact, it's not clear it's actually a memory issue or some specific files that trigger a bug that manifests as a memory issue.

I'm running with the 2K environments, planets and rocks and have no issues.

This is why I was begging for Steam DLC/workshop support.
If we had that, we could put out a lot of stuff and get back crash reports from people trying out various mod combos.

I also tested your texture pack a while ago. It had a corrupt file in there which made me crash: "bgrnd55bmp.mdl".

I had done extensive testing in conjunction with Imago before I got banned again, and had compiled the high res installer - nothing lead to believe that there were files in particular causing problems (we figured it might have been the Draconium models) and that the consistent way to generate crashes was just to add enough high res textures until it started causing crashes (which I managed without any of the first gen drac models, though they definitely were making the problem worse when implemented just due to their size)
