I have to agree with Grimm on this one, I personally have been running when under fire, and then 'accidentally' rammed a rock. The enemy only took 10-20% of my health off and the rock finished me, and the kill was not credited to anyone.

I thought the ability to eject from any ship was originally in the game but got nuked waaaaaay early in beta for just the reasoning mentioned above

edit: although now that I think about it, wasn't that back before kill credit went to majority damage and was credited to the last hit instead? With that changed, maybe allowing ejects for everyone is more feasible?

I do believe it was possible to do this early in the beta. The normal functionality was removed, but it was still an allowed “cheet code” for the admins / devs to use (they could eject from any ship as well as self destruct their pod at any time).

The cheat codes are still in the fedsrv.cpp file of the source, it has just been commented out.

Ooh, just force 5 minutes of cute cinematic scenes after ejecting.

Or maybe eject in spacesuit, with 10 minutes of 02, also it doesn't show on radar neither can be targetted. You must swim in the empty space to reach a friendly ship. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

PS. Add a knife weapon to it. Then you can sneak to the enemy bomber, enter it and cut the throat of the driver. Yay!

A lot of the early "cheat codes" were there for game development. It was easier to test certain things if we could have a "shortcut". They were never intended for regular play.

I agree, no.

I like the idea of ejecting. Like when you eject from a turret. But i think it would render Figs pretty much useless. As one of the main reasons i use figs for is there ripcord ability. If everyone had an int and was able to eject then get picked up....well u can imagine gameplay.

Good idea in theory.

apoch. Think hard about what you just said.

I'm 90% certain this is even covered in Cadet.

But it doesnt work well if your out of boost fuel.

However I should also point out that several lt ints podding themselves on rocks and getting picked up is used by more than just RT... Its just that several of the other squads are now so damnd good that they dont need to pod themselves, they just fly into the enemy home instead and cause their opponents to have to rush home to defend against the havoc they cause.
