Well if it (or any other alternative core) is built it really should be done by a single person. Design by committee is meh. And the idea has no business in the community core anyway.

The first hurdle towards something like this is you have to model and texture the ship in a style that fits in with, what are we up to now, 9 existing factions. Sure, you can chuck in anything into Dreg and to a certain extent TF and OH and GT ships are fairly straightforward design-wise but recreating the style of the original factions will be difficult and time consuming.

Problem is there is no guarantee if it'll work well once all is said and done. Without the models nobody would really play it, and if the idea doesn't pan out the effort is wasted. Chicken & egg situation.

This hardly even changes anything other than reducing tac's cost by 10k

Seems that I misread.
I thought this was about nerfing exp, not boosting it.

Anyways, if exp is to be nerfed - wouldn't it be better to move miner GAs to Garr,
and/or lower the effectiveness of ints vs tac and sup OR
visa verca - increase the effectiveness of SFs and Figs vs Ints by tiny bit?

Imho the issues with exp, is the weakness of small2small combat of SFs and Figs.

Sup requires better team work and fighting in "formation" to negate the natural perks of an exp enemy.
Tac requires much better work for D. Early bomb rush and at best, most teams (aka PUG teams) are tied to endless D in best case scenario.
The Tac's best miner killers will have to choose between going on miner O or sitting on D compensating for the worser SF pilots, so an Exp enemy can almost freely mine to heavies, PPs and what not else like heavy bbrs, adv scouts and Nan7.

My 2 completely uneducated cents :hide: ~cj
