Tidbit #2:
Allegiance has had MANY MANY MANY fan pages. Many of us weren't around for the AZ (most of us weren't I'd wager). Here are a few pages we missed:
http://web.archive.org/web/20001026214339/...q.gameglow.com/ (and check out the screenshots there, wow!)
http://web.archive.org/web/20000822043059/...com/allegiance/ (and the forum link works . . kind of . .you can read the subjects)
http://web.archive.org/web/20000815065238/...allegiance.com/ (really? who knew!?)
http://web.archive.org/web/20000815213058/...giancewars.com/ (the first Allegiance Wars?)
TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY
And broken Lancer 2 (which gave you Lancer 3 for free)...Archer14 wrote:QUOTE (Archer14 @ Mar 3 2010, 12:58 AM) I was in a game that took 2 hrs on 1.25 core. It was Rix dests vs IC hvy ints. In the end Rix dests won with the help of speed2, range2, and dmg2!!! `4![]()

The history of open-source Allegiance is paved with the bodies of dead code branches, forum flame wars, and personal vendettas. But a community remains because people still love the game.

Hey, I remember I tried to understand the Allegiance war page and finding where the different battles was about on the map =)
That was before I got a usable internet connection (which I got about the same time as Microsoft shut down their servers) and only played Allegiance on local LAN parties.
