Would really help if you folks would read the wiki, specifically this page: http://www.freeallegiance.org/FAW/index.ph...mmanders.27_FAQ

Commanders' rights

You will not boot rampage. You will not boot resign. If your frustration with your team is such, resign or drop the comm. Poor skill is not an excuse for booting in a pickup game. You accepted him, you play with him.

Mutiny and booting of the old commander It is allowable for the new commander after a successful mutiny has passed, to remove the old commander from the game. Players who mutiny, just so they can boot the commander and have no intent of commanding the game will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

I can agree with this due to the fact that it's the reason I don't jump in the command chair on main.

But then again, I think about a "newer" player who does dib and dab in the command chair, but hasn't necessarily been a part of the community very long. If they see it happening a time or two, with minimal gripes about it, wouldn't they just see it as acceptable behavior? That kind of makes us have to take a look at what we do, and the impact it has long term as people enter the community. They come in, determine eventually (some slower than others) what is acceptable amongst their peers by observation, and then mimic the behavior as they adapt to the environment.

I do not like it either, as spidey said, when this is done. The above was just a thought I had while reading this thread.

+1 to post count. I been slacking on forum whoring for a while.

I just don't get, why people complain about getting booted. Nothing really happens. You can come back with your hider and rejoin your team. It's just a symbolic act.

Not everyone is that smart. I mean, seriously, when you have startup accts with Noob, Noob@CDT, Noob@CDT-1, it's pretty obvious to figure out what some of these people's "alt" accounts are.

Sorry Raum.

I booted you because I thought you were afk since you weren't responding to chat or buying anything with the ridiculous amounts of cash you/we had.

My boot was a bit rash but I honestly thought you were afk. My apologies once again. Please don't stop commanding because of my mistake. We need more comms.

I guess in my mind mutiny and booting are two things. Usually when I'm mutinied (ok the only time I've been mutinied) was when I declared the game unwinnable and HSharp decided he wanted to try winning. TBH I was going to drop it to him anyways, I just wanted a bit more bold-text ranting. Anyways, he took the com, I took a nan scout to try and help him win.

We did eventually lose because the game was, at that point, unwinnable since no one had defended miners until I was mutinied and turned around to nan the miners.

Don't find fault, find a remedy; anybody can complain.

This seems to say people cannot boot others for mistakes? Is this reading right?

If new* players don't even attempt to comm - they will never learn how to comm. Eventually the decent commanders will get bored and leave with no-one new to play, games will suck, more people will leave, society's infrstructure will fall down, brother will sleep with sister, dogs and cats will live together, Sarah Palin will come out as a hippie lesbian....

While I may have got carried away a little there - my basic point was sound.

*new to commanding - not to the game
