Halving the cost is essentially the same as making EWS 2 into EWS 3 and getting rid of 3. It's also the same as finding 2 and then buying 3.

I've been known to buy (as bios obviously) EWS 3 and hvy scouts when I want people to probe - It's quite amazing how eager people are to probe when you say "I've got you EWS3 and hvy scouts, go probe" :)

No one buys EWS 2 because you pick it up. No one buys EWS 3 for the same reason no one buys Prox 3: there's more important things to spend your money on. Hell, unless it's vs. exp, sup teams never buy gat3 or dumb3, should we lower the price on those? Plus no one buys Prox2, and you're not complaining about the price of Prox2 :P

But I wouldn't mind applying what was supposed to be the general sup tech price decrease.

Lol at tech no one ever buys but I see in tons of games anyways.

Keep in mind that a 16% increase in scan radius between EWS2 and 3 is a 59% increase in scan volume.

I feel like a broken record here, but "no one ever buys ..." is not a reason to perk that tech. Changes should be made based on overall balance issues. If sup needs a perk in general, reducing the cost of probes might be one way to address it.

Well if sup needed a buff against tac then it would be worth it, but as long as the loose rock paper scissors is still in place there's no real reason to do so.

Commanders who refuse to buy EWS 2/3 and sensor GAs drive me nuts. I always get them when I have the cash. They are not underpowered by any stretch of the imagination, but people refuse to acknowledge that.

Interestingly, most of the sup tech prices are halved (a DN change I assume), with the exceptions of TP2, EWS 2/3, XRM AB, LRM AB (the GT one) and tf's unique tech. Is there any reason the probe upgrades weren't made cheaper with everything else?

Although I admit there is a problem with the cost of probe2/3 [it should at least be half, if not ews3 changed to to ews2 al la kage] a much bigger concern are IC RP which are the cheesiest of free techs out there.

TF Beacon is much harder to find and it's much cheaper, even it has less scanrange (same as EWS 1)... ;)

Beacon vs RP

Beacon has half scanrange of RP.
Beacon has half signature of RP.
Beacon costs only 0.4 times of RP.
Both rescue pods.
Both have 20 mins lifetime.

Overall beacon beats RP. :P
