EWS Probes 2 & 3

What do you all think of the upgrades for EWS 2 and 3?
Both upgrades cost $5000

scan range: 500 600 700
signature: 30 25 20
cargo size: 2 2 1

low sig bomber seen at
1000 1200K 1400K (+200 per upgrade)
high sig bomber seen at
1750 2100 2450 (+350 per upgrade)

probe found by standard scout at
720 600 480 (-120 per upgrade)
probe found by Adv/Hvy scout at
900 750 600 (-150 per upgrade)
probe found by Adv/Hvy scout with Sensor 1&2 at
1080 900 720 (-180 per upgrade)
probe found by pulse probe at
1500 1250 1000 (-250 per upgrade)
probe found by pulse probe with scan 1&2 at
1800 1500 1200 (-300 per upgrade)

Is $5000 really worth it for +100m scan range and -5% signature?
EWS3 upgrade maybe, because the cargo usage is cut in half, even a standard scout can carry two per rack instead of one.

Are they fine the way they are? Should they cost less to research? Should EWS2 have the reduced cargo usage of EWS3?

Remember that lower sig and higher scan range are essentially the same thing when it comes to probes. So it's not that that that bad...

On a related note, rescue probes are still cheese last time I checked. But that's another topic.

facts:

Probe 2 is never bought but can be picked up...

Probe 3 is never bought... (even BIOS don't buy them).

So the answer is NO. People don't think either of them are worth $5000.

solution: remove probe3 and make probe2 like probe3 (sig, scan & cargo size)

Not all techs need 3 tiers anyway. So 2 tiers for probes is more than enough.

Lies. I once bought ews3 as TF. Best thing I ever did, considering I had hvy scouts against BIOS htt.

Probe 3 is occasionally bought by rich teams. Esp. bios.

The price is very steep. Maybe GA price would be more appropriate.

Higher range/smaller sig will have big impact on the balance. Making it cheaper is the easiest solution altough i like KGJV's idea too.

If ews3 becomes ews2 then I'd remove it from treasures.

Kage makes a good point, though my standard idea is if we find ews2 and we have money I'll buy ews3.

I much prefer lowering the cost and keeping ews2 & ews3.
