To me this is less important than the nan sprite.

Hell, I almost never shoot a gat anyway.

Well I just wanted to know whether they could be changed. I believe (unless I'm going crazy) that during one period in time you couldn't modify them, but maybe I am just crazy.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the sprites are moddable.

The size can also be changed in the core, I was poking around with the TF gat sprites earlier since they're huge too. The problem is that if we change it in the core, then anyone with a modded sprite will have to go fix their mod, since their sprites would become even smaller. So it becomes a sort of people who care vs. people who don't, with many of the ones who do care already having a modded sprite.

It also means that anyone who reverted their mods because of this would be back to large sprites on other cores that use the same artwork.

Also, to zero & fishbone: Thats silly since you can tell the difference just by listening. Unless having the sound on is cheating :P

Edit: Clarity

The problem is that the files are probably on autoupdate, so you'll have to apply the patch from time to time :)

The sound difference between Gat1 and Gat2, Gat2 and Gat3, and even Gat1 and Gat3 is very subtle - Difficult to tell the difference when not compared to a different one. Not to mention you'll be firing your own guns in most situations.

Having color coded gat sprites, however, makes it obvious enough a turtle could spot the difference.

It's also really obvious with the standard sprites which is 1,2,3 etc
