QUOTE I'm aligned with nobody, I only believe everyone needs to be heard.[/quote]

So you help circumvent a forum ban. OK, it's not that a big deal, but really.. does it get any more basic than this? Then you guys wonder why the admins get riled. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

Want bigger games? Log on to play at the official game time: 9pmET/8pmCT/7pmMT/6pmPT every day of the week. Also Saturdays 8pm UTC.

QUOTE I am willing to find a compromise but the admins need to lay off the

pfft. People should be able to express their ideals civilly.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

_SRM_TheBored wrote:QUOTE (_SRM_TheBored @ Oct 14 2006, 05:21 AM) Deng made it seem like this is the Community versus 5 people. I think it is much more than 5 people, the others are just not speaking up.
Here's how I see it:

Night was seeing the storm clouds gathering on the horizon (one of his myriad of suicidal posts from yesterday included something like "since I was about to be banned anyway..."), so he attempted to polarize the community by forcing a "wave of terror" or whatever... presenting the current harsh (I personally don't think it's harsh or over the top, but then again, I'm an extremist about certain things) enforcement as a cause, rather than as the effect it really is (if you don't know what Causality is, here's the obligatory wikipedia link).

The sad thing is, quite a few people fell for it.

So yes, while it may not be "just 5 people" now, I do believe the point of origin was five people, at most.

i'm thinking that Night just wanted to get a chance to sway people before the inevitable ban, he seemed suprised when others had similar feelings

Ozricosis wrote:QUOTE (Ozricosis @ Oct 13 2006, 11:02 PM) There is only one thing I can do to help.

Play this game and help to teach other players how to be more useful.

I think the word "asshat" is overused and should be buried here and now.

The only way to move forward from here is to forgive past transgressions and move on to a better learning environment.

Really that's what Allegiance is for the vast majority of our players. Learning.

So, in the true spirit of who I am and who I will always be...

SHUTUP AND PLAY!

Ozzy Your a skilled player. Alot of people will benefit from your teachings.

I really hope this is a dawn on a New Allegiance.

This is the most depressing thing i've read so far and that is saying a lot. In any sufficiently diverse group of people finding a majority that agree on anything is remarkable. Do you really think all but 5 of the players in allegiance agree on how the community should be.

I don't condone the way Night and Masta decided to "light themselves on fire" as someone put it, but it doesn't change the sentiment. Not everyone wants a community where everyone trips over themselves to be nice. I would much rather hear the most insensitive, hurtful thing someone could throw my way, then to hear that the person was denied the liberty to say it. That is how I am. I understand not everyone is like that and if the community at large decides to go the "carebear"(for lack of a better term) route, then it should, and its up to each individual to decide whether to stay or go. I don't think however, and this is my opinion, that the community is as lopsided in its suport of that as your post indicates you do.

What I personally would love to see is a discussion on the direction we should go. The best place for this discussion would of course be the senate. That way we could try to resolve this with the system that has been in place for years, instead of 2 or 3 people making decisions for all of us. I don't think this is going to happen, and I and others will continue to feel drug along in a direction we don't want to go. I'm not going to bitch and moan about it because it doesn't solve anything, but because I don't, don't assume everyone agrees with you.

In closing, to everyone whose responses have included something like "well if you don't like it, leave", I hope you still feel that way when you're on the wrong side of public opinion, and take your own advice.

BTW, I've felt like this since I got here( 2+ years). Don't assume I've been brainwashed in one night. It's insulting.
