Works great on my ATI Mobility 3650 (with the desktop drivers modded to work), Vista 64-bit.

4x AA, 1280x800, 2048 texture size.

EDIT: I'm using the latest CortUI.

Ok here's my test.

Specs:
ATI Radeon HD 3800 Series
Vista SP1
Intel Core Duo E8400 @ 3.00GHZ
Ram: 4G

Mods:
CortUI 1.76
Mpal (Madpeople's mod)
Tiny Cross
Gat2+3 mod
Ringleader

I use all of Dogbones settings as instructed in his original post.

Like with Shiz and a few others, whenever I am in F3, intermittently, the game crashed to desktop with the message "Allegiance has stopped working" - close program. It happens when I order constructers, myself, or zoom in or out.. but it is intermittent. It doesn't happen immediately and I can order stuff still with no issues but than boom it happens. It does happen eventually and often.

Interestingly enough, when I was on R5 Beta servers a while back testing Xeretov's training core the exact same issues would be occurring for me.... however I understand R5 has this new graphics engine installed as part of it anyway.

I even tried turning of antialiasing completely and a few other things too but same issue.

Also if I have vsync off, my FPS is like 800 or 200, it varies, but I note the debris looks even more denser and clouds the screen up.

Crashfile info:
• Allegiance exited with code: 255
• Creating Crashfile
• Beginning Logout
• Closing processes
• Sending Logout Request
• Logged Out

Going back to normal allegiance.exe for now, but I'm happy to test more if required.

Can you check if you get the crash when you move the mouse over the base status message (top left corner) in the base F3 screen?

I have allowed the client to run in F3 for several hours without any crash, doing a lot of stuff... Except for moving the mouse to that corner ;)

BINGO!

Tried it a few times and you're spot on. That's exactly when it happens.

Thanks!! I'm glad we've all narrowed it down... so wonder what's causing that. Some conflict with the graphics that displays that message or maybe CortUI?

edit1: just re-read the comments above/CortUI ticket. All makes sense now.

edit2: After playing on Alpha for a full game, I must admit.. it makes things even laggier for me. I'm in Australia so my ping on Planet is around 225. For some reason, ships jump from side to side very fast and some other laggy effects that I do not usually get in the old gfx engine. Maybe it is because my FPS goes from around 25-60 to 45-75.. dunno but I'm reverting back to normal alleg for now.

I really hope R5 doesn't have the same issues otherwise gameplay is bad... then again with Voobscouts IPV6 idea it may all work out.

Yes, I tried it too, using Beta. Top-Left corner is EVIL with CortUI!!!

I think I'm getting crashes because of this CortUI bug. I haven't tested it yet, but so far all of my crashes have been "random".

I was having some weird framerate problems, so i decided to give this a shot - My fps went from 15-50 to 75-130 with this version :) Using default settings, vsync off. Haven't encountered any crashes, only seen a few glitches/bugs that were already mentioned.

Updated to the Alpha at suggest of ImmZ, since I was having yellow box item errors on my new GFX card.

Installed fine.

Worked alongside known issues, gauge replication etc.

Crashed out after 20-ish minutes, killed the whole system so needed a reboot. Going back in for a second try, will update post when done.
