Rix SFs are similarly awesome, but like everything Rix they take brains to use...which makes up for their uberness. Honestly I see no reason to fix this as AB missiles don't also give a "STATION AT RISK" warning when they are fired, nor does Rix really need a rebalance of any sort. You should be able to SB uneyed...and the frequency of actually SB'ing uneyed is quite rare so why bother?

Wrong. Even a basic station will eye a sb with ABs loaded at 1020m, and that's not factoring in base scale.
So, yeah, you can get your first ab off at 1400m uneyed but if you want your 2nd to hit you're gonna have to get yourself eyed.
Compare that to how often people brag about soloing adv techbases with uneyed rix sbs.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.
Rix should be able to SB uneyed. At least, if the other team fails at defending against SBs. It's *rix.* That's like saying "heavy ints shouldn't be able to cloak!" or "teleport receivers shouldn't be un-galvable!" Or, for that matter, who ever heard of a SB that can *boost*?juckto wrote:QUOTE (juckto @ Apr 13 2009, 09:25 PM) Wrong. Note that AB missiles necessitate being eyed, but unlike station pods, they cannot be (realistically) shot down.
On the other hand, the fact that AB missiles and station pods are different is a good reason that station pods should have a "station at risk" warning. If... that was possible. Which apparently it isn't.
It's not a huge deal, really, at most it costs you another second to figure out where it is without the big flashy mini-map warning.

If a tp2 probe accepts a station at risk warning flag, I'm not sure why a rix station pod wouldn't. In fact, I recall ICE having a "Station Warning" flag for rix station pods (it was just unchecked).

I stand corrected. I was under the impression that "Warn when drop" was checked for the Station Drones. It is not.Clay_Pigeon wrote:QUOTE (Clay_Pigeon @ Apr 13 2009, 10:19 PM) If a tp2 probe accepts a station at risk warning flag, I'm not sure why a rix station pod wouldn't. I know that I have had some issues with this kind of warning and short lifetimes, but I think that SD's have a long enough lifetime to function properly

This is what prompted me to bring it up actually.Clay_Pigeon wrote:QUOTE (Clay_Pigeon @ Apr 14 2009, 05:19 AM) If a tp2 probe accepts a station at risk warning flag, I'm not sure why a rix station pod wouldn't.
