AllegSkill has been enabled.
Here's what's changed:
When logging in, your rank is now calculated from your Mu and your Sigma. Consult the wiki for more information.
If your rank is below 5 but your sigma is low enough for the system to be confident in your skill, your rank will be forced to a (5). The current sigma threshold is 6.25, although that may change after further analysis of the system.
If you have questions about how Mu/Sigma work, be sure to consult the wiki first!

I just read and reread it. It said that the sigma starts at 25/3 and stabilizes at 1 with 1 having the most certainty. But how can you have a sigma lower than 1 if it stabilizes there? Uber reliability?

QUOTE \gamma = \frac{25}{300} is the dynamics variable, which prevents sigma from ever reaching zero, which in turn determines how quickly mu can in/decrease once sigma has stabilised. If we discover that sigma-stabilised ratings are moving too slowly to reflect genuine changes in skill, we will increase gamma.
Probably should be on the Sigma page too. Actually I didn't realise we were still using the Sigma and Mu pages.
QUOTE my rank is entirely too high, why is this?
Because you are just that awesome.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.
Does then mean you can now use auto balance and we will never run into that situation where no team could be joined except by newbieS?
I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

My apologies.
Nothing ingame has been changed except for the numbers displayed in the "Rank" column.spideycw wrote:QUOTE (spideycw @ Jan 18 2009, 11:09 PM) Does then mean you can now use auto balance and we will never run into that situation where no team could be joined except by newbieS?
The AutoBalance feature works the same way as before.
