How much traffic are we talking about? I am in the process of getting a server for e-mail and a bit of private hosting. Depending on the amount of traffic, I might offer some bandwidth for the setup (or get a larger traffic allowance).

if there was a way to specify the amount of bandwidth we can offer (and thus only serve that much amount) would be of great help, so those of us who need to watch traffic wont get screwed. would you need help with coding up the scripts for the mirror?

I think that is his point. He wants to keep the coding a bit under control. As he stated earlier, if you are worried about bandwith, it is best not to offer.

OK, 1.4/x is not too much, even if x=2. I was afraid it was more like 14TB. :)
I will agree to host the file, as soon as I decided which hosting company I want to use. I'll inform you asap. (poke me in about a month, if necessary, I might forget it...

These 1.4 TB include the traffic of this forum (portal, blogs, wiki) and the download, while the download does the smallest part on traffic.
