You're about two weeks late to the party my son, this thread went off-topic as soon as IB posted (as usual).

necro'ing a thread everyone left to request it get shut down ftw!

To MrC, about a month ago I had to dodge cougars at a pool hall. They weren't mauling, but with provocation they would have.

You guys don't get it...I'm a (9)...I play both main and side...I'm sure I know most of what they teach in Cadet...and I know every techpath like the back of my hand, I'm not a noob that thinks you get Advanced Fighters from the garrison and Adv Scouts from the Supremacy...

I checked a while ago and excluding people that have played very few games the mode for rank is (15). So if you think HELO is worth anything and want to be considered at least average then you need to be around 15. In short, your (9) is not lending confidence.

Also, main at 3 am is not any different from side games.

Don't find fault, find a remedy; anybody can complain.

The point of CADET is not just to teach info (although that is a large part of it) - it also enhances your rep in the community, as people see you are willing to learn.
FYI - I learn t lots of new stuff in CDT I and II, and I've logged roughly the same hours in game that you have. There are a lot of tips and tricks you are unlikely to know yet.

Oh, and as others have pointed out - your HELO rank is lowish (as if that means anything), so quoting it in your defense was a poor choice.

As a proud holder of a rank 11, let me tell you my secret formula.

For every miner I kill, next game I try to ram a rock to death.

60% of the time, it works all the time.

I'll put it bluntly.

You don't.

Cadet is not the simple stuff (Well, Cadet 1 is, but you likely do know that stuff) of 'Figs come from sup, stealths from Tac, ints from Exp.'

Cadet has some pretty advanced stuff, like how to use a stealth fighter for killing miners, how to use it for killing constructors, how to place probes so that they are effective but they aren't detected as easily, and whole tons of stuff like that. Stealth Figs are just a tip of the iceberg for it.

I have been playing the game for over two years, and I've taken Cadet twice, but I won't even claim to know everything in the Cadet course. I can think of no single person that knows the entirety of the Cadet course. You will learn a lot of stuff in there that you never even thought about.

I've taken the original CDT course, and have been involved in CDT in one way for a very very long time, and every year we pick up something new, the sheer mass of content that is in CDT is more than any one person can know. And right now, the CDT II material is being revamped with even MORE specialized information and tactics, collected from a myriad of vets.
QUOTE and I know every techpath like the back of my hand,[/quote]
I actually take more offense to this, being an experience com, there are times that I still need to check up on some of the pre-reqs for tech I want to get. Commanding is very hard, which is why ACS is a great thing. Ask an ACS grad how much they learned from that course.

Frankly you don't even know enough to understand that you simply don't know.
