To add: I miner hunt in an int all the time.
The key to finding miners in an int is knowing some basic strategies a comm will use to defend his miners. Watch where he plants his opening cons and you will know where the miners will be. Once you have a good guess of what sector they're in, use F3 to look at the rocks to determine which He3 the miner will hit first. If that doesn't work, sometimes it's enough to buzz the op by boosting near it and there will be a miner that will have just launched or is in the process of docking.
Take cadet. They will give you more details as to how miners work and such.

Also don't worry too much about booting. It happens.
Heck, the booting I remember best happened as I thought I was really effiscient. Game starts:
-load scout with probes and a few sets of dumbfires incase I find miners, launch. A vet types me a message from the lobby. a few other scouts have launched, and nobody is going towards one aleph yet so I head there, and type a response to the vet. Just as I'm about to go through (took 15 seconds maybe, aleph was close) I get booted.
Map was inside out, and I had been headed to the central aleph, shields up and missiles loaded. Com may have had time to type something, but as I was ansvering a serious question, I didn't process it yet... anyway there was only a handful of seconds. By booting me the com made sure that vulnerable aleph wasn't illuminated to the enemy (not sure it would have been, but no point in taking risks).
I don't remember who was com, but he/she had good reflexes luckily.

<bp|> Maybe when I grow up I can be a troll like PsycH
<bp|> or an obsessive compulsive paladin of law like Adept
As a general rule, if you know something is possible but don't know specifics, it's not a good idea to try it. Take skydiving, for example.

DebDoot wrote:QUOTE (DebDoot @ Mar 4 2008, 07:31 AM) OMG, pilot's minimap is not reliable? Did'nt know this information! Thanks to kuromimi and Adept for telling that. I remember, I had checked the sector's HE3 level before entering there. After entering, I didnt notice the minimap again. Probably that updated itself to a very low no (10, 20 etc). May be seeing that from base (f3), comm has booted me. If this is the case, I beg an apology to Guiterianism in front of everyone. I am srry that I thought he booted me just because he was angry with the team. I apologise again.
One thing I have observed, and been a part of in my short time flying, is an int(or three) along with a scout searching for miners. always load gat and nan on your scout (which I would suggest be the ship that you are flying on this team of miner o) so that not only can you scan for miners, and even help with the offense, but also repair you int friends when enemy miner d arrives.
I absolutely love a scout. So versatile, and mine is custom made interior!!!!!!! yehawwww! If you like my scout, you'll love what I've done with my pod.
PS- Be sure that you have at least one vet on a miner offense team, that way it's not a bunch of noobs, or voobs flying by the seat of their pants. Teamwork...experienced teamwork.
I find miniguns are better for killing miners, pps are good, but you need a lot of them placed directly infront of the miner.jassim8 wrote:QUOTE (jassim8 @ Mar 15 2008, 05:05 AM) (best way to kill miners with an int is using pp's if you have em)
slap wrote:QUOTE (slap @ Oct 7 2009, 01:28 AM) good point, I concede.
