Just something: The amount of he3 left in a sector on the minimap isn't reliable when you're flying. Only trust it when you're docked and watching on f3 or that you are flying inside that sector.

After a while, it gets easy to find miners in ints, but as others pointed out, it's easier to hunt them with scouts/buddies 1st to learn the pattern.

C'est une citation de mon ancienne professeure d'allemand. Je ne le sais pas.

Pilot's minimap isn't reliable here. I don't know how it is when in base, as I haven't had time to check this yet. This much I know:

I'm in a scout, looking at a minimap I see about 150 He in a sector which I think is where the enemy are mining. As I enter the sector the minimap updates the He amount to something like 13, as the enemy have already mined it and moved on.

I don't know the specifics of this, but a pilots minimap isn't totally reliable.

/edit D'oh! For some reason I didn't see Vly's answer here before I posted.

I am not 100% sure on this, but I think even when you are flying in a sector you have to be able to *see* the rock with your scanners for the minimap to calculate its true He level. For instance, you might be flying up to a rock that appears half full and then once it gets within your scan range you might find that it is completely empty. Only then will it show up on the minimap and recalculate the he in the sector. You might be able to see the he dropping on a rock outside your scan range while in an int but I'm not positive of that.

In short, searching for miners in an int is usually useless unless you are fairly certain that the miners are in that sector.

Another thing to consider, if you drop a pulse probe, and find that half the rocks are freshly mined out, their is a good chance a miner may be returning shortly. Camping an aleph or a rock closest to their base may result in pleasant surprises.

I'm not around too much these days, but mayhaps there'll come a time. And i think there used to be a Kain, but there hasn't been an active one as long as I've been around.

OMG, pilot's minimap is not reliable? Did'nt know this information! Thanks to kuromimi and Adept for telling that. I remember, I had checked the sector's HE3 level before entering there. After entering, I didnt notice the minimap again. Probably that updated itself to a very low no (10, 20 etc). May be seeing that from base (f3), comm has booted me. If this is the case, I beg an apology to Guiterianism in front of everyone. I am srry that I thought he booted me just because he was angry with the team. I apologise again.
