Uhhm, that's actually a very good argument as to why cutting int fuel is a decent proposal for bringing exp in line. Ints aren't supposed to be out dogfighting. If there isn't something to be defended, they shouldn't be there. Ints also aren't supposed to boost from other sectors to defend: if you don't have a base to land at, you don't get to join the fun. Exp isn't about getting places quickly, it's about "slow and steady." It also isn't about getting the whole team in one place for every defense, you're not supposed to need everyone to be able to redeploy quickly because you don't need nearly as many pilots to down a bomb run as other techs.

They are Interceptors. Not "fly 4 sectors and kill things and get back in time for dinner" ships. A small fuel nerf won't kill em. It will mean though that you'll want to conserve your fuel for situations that call for it, IE dogfighting, not getting there faster.

And you'll still be able to hunt miners. It will take a lil more skill. Ask Aarm and Apoch. They didnt use any booster fuel hunting my miners.

I think that is a bit closer to reality, but thanks anyway /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> This does seriously (_still_) warrant some consideration though, with so much being re-worked so heavily it really shouldn't faze people to go a few weeks with not-quite-the-same ints... and again, it isn't like you'd really hurt them defensively unless you really go overboard to sub-LXY levels for everything.

Well, cut the fuel and I'd still be able to run around 2 sectors on a hvy int with light boost 2. There. Plus, its got 100% lower sig. Boosting constantly for nearly a minute at around 220mps is so much fun.


Oh for those who have trouble with chasing stuff in luxy ints, use lb2. Slower, but lets you pack more ammo.

Not sure how to solve the whole int being a mutlirole ship. Possibly lower accel normally= more boosting = more skill needed to use fuel wisely?

What if you dont give Interceptors a booster at all?

Just a moderate cruise speed suited for only intersector travel, but have high acceleration allowing them to strafe quickly, but not at hig speed.

Only thing I can think of to make it far too time consuming to go 2-3 sectors to attack.


Another solution, that involves not changing anything at all is: use larger maps.
exp is the king of small maps and cramped areas. If a larger map was used, exp could be used mainly for defence effectivley, while tactical or sup are for offence, especially tactical because of the high cruise speed

A Decent SF pilot kan pick off int pilotz from range.. and a Good Fig pilot kan kream a Int pilot.. dependz on faction but it kan be done..(( Shenron PWNED my HVY ic int with a bios adv fig... LIKE i waz a CHILD)) so all in all... JUst need to learn yur shipz better guyz... I mean really.. NERF intz SO exp iz USLESS.. HEREZ the giffer...... EXP getz .... WELL INTZ...... SUP getz.... AB3 AC3 DUMB 3 (( which kan SPIKE a bomber faster then intz)) AND ...wait for it... TP2 Ultimate cheese....... NOW we put tac into this.... well hmm SFZ= NO Minerz.. and SBZ= NO basez..... Both other techz GET a great amount of GREAT weaponz...... EXP getz......INTZ.....ANyone startin to notice a balancing pattern.... THE problem with everyone iz they try to take a faction and NOT use the TECH appropraite for it.. WRONG........ THIS iz just dumb.........

Veg you forgot you can CAPTURE bases with Expansion as well as improve economy.

Also the tactical can as well with nerve gas but with great difficulty (Not sure if its even DN)

The thing is, most maps on the main games are small, Ints own on small maps, no question about it. Nothing short of a 20 bomber LRM anti base TP2 drop or a defence with no morale or clue can get through hvy ints....

Fuel nerf is alright but no boosters?!? Unless you give them a cruise speed of 300m or higher, ints will just be moving meatshields .Seriously the range of minis is so small that the booster is the most important weapon of an int pilot. Ints completely rely on the acceleration and speed of the booster to avoid getting ranged. How is an interceptor and interceptor if it can't even get close enough to the enemy to deal any damage.
