This will be my last post in this topic:
QUOTE my post wasnt about the tactics of the game... as a veteran I think im qualified to say that the tactics most people use while maybe effective here.. certainly would never work in a real space environment (something which as having a few rocket scientists, real ones, gives me the authority on this)
Do you really need to add the "as a veteran" part? You might be a vet in other game, but in this game you are new. So act like you're new and stop try to act like a veteran know-it-all. Because you are not. I am not a vet, so i am saying this from a noob/inter's perspective.
QUOTE Secondly.... when you are part of a gaming community... you are supposed to respect ALL members of the community.. even idiot newbies like myself... why.. BECAUSE WE ARE NEW...
guess what, we respect ALL people in this community if they don't make a @#%& out of themself. It is the same in ALL communities, yes, i meean all. Even in RL. Think about this: you worked for a company for 3+ years. You have a new worker freshly graduated join recently. Everyone have full repect for him. Two days later, this guy start show-off all his skills, and all people around him are 3+ years workers that actually know what they are doing. What will happen the respect of this new worker? IT WILL BE GONE
QUOTE I read the entire allegiance academy website as well as ran through some dry flight missions to get the hang of controls and commands... The questions i asked were relevant.. not basic... and could have been answered in less than 30 seconds... But the teams were too busy arguing about how stupid certain tactics used by other team members (not myself) were using...
guess what? This is a FREE game. We all have RL jobs/school etc. NOBODY here is paid to do devolpment, enforcing, answer questions, etc. We can not have one people sitting out every minute of every day to answer questions. All people play. We do have @allegs, we do have @cadet, and most vets/high intermediate skilled players will answer your question. Just because ONE question of yours are not answered, doesn't mean ALL question of all new players and intermediate skilled players alike will not be answered. You can not expect the question to be answered a second after you ask them. We are all into the game, commander will be investigating, looking at F3 situation, managing miners etc. Peoples will be doing their job in the game to help the team win. They can not, and will not stop their job to answer a question, unless the job is not seriously concerned.
We have heard what the commander and a respecful player on your team said about that particular game you have your question unanswered. We all know the situation they were facing.
how do you call "stupid certain tactics" when you do not know the game? if I tell you that when you face a bomber run, you ram your ship into enemy bomber, do you call it stupid? Because you damage yourself? Because you will not do any damage but to ram it off-course? If I tell you that when you're in a int that's 3 sector away from base, and bomber sighted, you will ram on a rock and pod yourself, get a pickup and back to station, is that stupid? From your perspective, it will be stupid because you are podding yourself.
QUOTE Thirdly..and finally... The amount of spam allowed on these forums is inconceivable... ... Getting around the censor... itso knows better than that as our webmaster.. but he also saw how disrespectful everyone else was..
okay, you are saying the admins are not controlling "spam" on this forum. You are saying everyone here is disrespectful. You are saying nobody answers your question, you are saying people in this community sucks, and this community is rotten.
Alright, we get all this. Now, you can leave. If you think this sucks so much, go @#$(( away and find yourself another game. No need to stick here.
If you call this spamming, it's not like we, have not been to your forums after you mentioned yourself as a mod of it. I somehow see more spam on yours.
Seriously, we don't care what you say anymore. NOTHING will change your view, NOTHING will change your thought. I don't care, I am not a mod, I am not the devolper, I am not an admin, and I am not a long timer vet. I am just simply one of crowd who love this game. The game can be much better without people whining on the forum. Go away.
P.S. You are very very close to BOG2.
Why is the community rotten

I *was* going to respond to the post, but this line enough is just too much. I'd put you on my ignore list, but this is comedy GOLD!

P.S. - Where do people get this stuff? You aren't a vet in ANY game after a couple weeks of playing. Hell in Alleg, its more like years (note: plural) until you are even considered competent.

Between an ego the size of a hot air balloon and a pile-on of eager people with little pins, I don't think real communication is happening any more. This thread needs to go to Heaven and be hugged by Baby Jesus.

PS. Darkpriest, this kind of crap doesn't happen to every newbie that comes here, or even quarter of them. Most newbies who come here assimilate (or not) without the slightest bit of fuss or trouble. It could be that you are part of the problem. As a public service, I refer everyone to Clay_Pigeon's Guide to Making People Like You.

tell you something guy. just refrain from posting. real veterans at games know their @#(!, and you are just a god damn noob.
let me tell you something about me, and learn from a REAL veteran gamer.
my first online gaming experience was on TIBIA. you might or not know that this game has a VERY STEEP learning curve, while the basics are pretty easy, to get GOOD, especially when you have a huge latency like i did (and do), is NOT EASY. Noobs on that game are abused. but abused to the point you cannot be new without protection, and that´s why the game is not all that popular. The developers there eventually simplified combat and movement systems SO MUCH, that most veterans quitted of sheer indignation ( i also did) .
when i started, i played with a friend of mine (which i´m trying to get here to play alleg), we were as most of clueless people: you don´t know what to do, who to ask or where to look. we learnt through experience. and let me tell you, it was HARD. but hard as you could not imagine. we still had great fun. when i was close to 2 years playing tibia, with mediocre characters and death ratios, i finally got ONE person to help me and my friend. at that point i couldn´t communicate myself on english very well, so i had to rely on spanish more, which made it even more difficult. This guy showed me the basics. how to act on a community, where to look for help, who to ask. who to NOT ASK, what to say and what to keep to yourself. after i arranged all the priorities, i was almost instantly a decent gamer. i could do my stuff and have a good time.
after tibia i started playing warcraft III and counter strike. The genres in which this games belong are now my favourites. I started with my right foot on both of the games, became part of the community who played each and managed to get good or very good at both of them, sometimes with help, sometimes learning by myself.
and now let me tell you something....
NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT RANTING AS YOU DID, BUT NEVER EVER. YOU MUST  E A R N  YOUR REPUTATION, YOU MUST EARN THE SKILL, AND YOU MUST SHUT THE $#@! UP UNTILL YOU DO. WHO THE $#@! QUOTE Itso... leave this post stop defending me bro... I know you are doing it to defend the Midori name... but these guys are chumps... they might be ultra elite at this game.. but remember.. we play 100s of games and would own them in ALL of them... we will just have to work our way here up silently.. and then crush them when they least expect it.. ...
is this some kid game? where somebody creates 2 acc and one defend the lost cause of each other? rethorics won´t win you any argument here, we have all kind of people with different kind of skills (from programmers, teachers and psychologists to lawyers and goddamn rocket scientists). we can detect crap from miles away, and we don´t play this game for $#@!ing reality simulation. go $#@! your sims cd if you want to do that. this game owns as is, and we like it as is. you want to join the fray? you are welcome. you want to whine¿? you are not welcome

Classifiable up to Trolleomorphism.
Interesting thread.
I haven't had the occasion to play with any of you as I am just coming back to give Allegiance another try so I am not sure how the in game communication is. However I have to say that so far members have been very helpful on forums
I think every community has its bad apples. Every community has people who are not helpful to the new players. What I also have found is that usually it is much easier to learn a game when playing in a guild/clan/federation
DarkPriest, I am not sure how long you have tried Allegiance, however my advice to you is to find players you like and play with them. Or expand your current clan and recruit current Allegiance players.
The bottom line is you can't judge a gaming community from a few players.
