Got my bomber into the enemy home for the game-winning run on their garr...with only 2 racks of missiles. 1 minute and one very much alive enemy garr later, i left the game to shouts of "BOOT THE F'ING RETARD" /doh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="doh.gif" />

Stealth Fighter.
Miner Killing.

Perfect lineup, no D, tons of time to wipe out the miner.

I hit cloak and start moving, get up to full speed, get JUST into range...

and pod myself with extreme fury on the largest asteroid in the sector.

I've never heard Raziel and Terralthra laugh so hard.

You're forgetting the funniest part: you had already huntered the shields down and were about 1/4 into the hull of the miner, passing it at full speed, and as you were turning to keep your utl on it, you rammed the He3 rock at full speed.

I remember that game. I'm surprised you hung around after that hate-the-newbie pile-on.

Relying on others to stop bomb runs.

(in pick-up games... its not much of an issue in SGs given all PK are trained in bomber ramming)

I'll take that as a compliment /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

I remembered another one: I was flying with a new hider. Start of a game I get in a scout and head to the nearest aleph, then turn off ap so that my ship wouldn't stop on the other side like it does. Then I turn away from the computer for a moment to do something.

Over ts I hear "Oh, hey such-and-such. Quick, get on my team man! ... hang on, I'll see who I can boot to make room for you. hmmmm, guess it'll be Gibblets because he just flew straight into a rock."

Turn back to the screen:
++ You have been booted by your commander! ++

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

I was a TP2 scout. I flew into an enemy sector. Missiles were still on. There was a scout coming straight on at me. Like, straight on, a dreg scout, I knew I had seconds before it noticed me. It was dropping probes in a line towards the aleph. I unmounted missiles, no room! Crap, I jettisoned the first thing in my cargo, unmounted and thrusted directly up.

The dreg scout picked up one of my unused TP2 probes without ever knowing I gave it to him. I screamed as I saw it all happen on F3.
