Norton Removed, game works. Didn't even know i had it until i checked again -.0' Must have some with the computer, but it never popped up on startup (was taken off the startup list apparently) so i removed it and the game works now, thanks for all the help guys, much appreciated /smile.gif" style ...

Im using Vista Home Premium. Hey ImmZ, i tried that.. but it didn't work :( and when i tried to reinstall, just about everything was unable to open for writing.. but the game still runs? Im not sure what to make of this :(

nah, ATL.dll is not read only.. The exact error message for it is "Error opening file for writing : ATL.dll - abort - retry - ignore etc... so.. i dunno whats going on becuase its still in the folder, and its not read-only

Okay, It's been a while and I've tried a few (ok, a lot) more times and it's definitely not working. Would switching to .net 2.0 help, cause i still have 1.1. also, when i reinstall, i note an error message saying ATL.dll is not available for writing? anyway im assuming that that file is missing ...

Normally I would agree, but this continues to happen all day, and has for the last 2, so I'm assuming something else is the cause here.

Edit: Is the ATL.DLL important?
