My machine is not that all sooped up, and VMWare would probably not be able to run sufficiently. But I might give that a try. I had successfully got Allegiance to run under wine, as long as you disable the sound. I didn't manage to test the networking capability though, because I couldn't run ASGS.

One thing that definitely would be useful is that you can advertise for help in development, for example for a code port to OpenGL, but that would require proper project management and tasking. And you get the advantage of binary and source code hosting on many mirrors.

It's just a listing, and they do require open source licensed code. However, it's unlikely that this won't be ok, as Microsoft themselves seemed to have placed code on sourceforge themselves.
