Thanks,
I was trying to look for it in the old forums, but those seem to be deleted.
I'm working on the code as we speak.

OK,
The subversion repository at
http://svn.alleg.net:8080/svn/Allegiance/
has been added and listed on the sourceforge listing at the following link
http://sourceforge.net/projects/freeallegiance/
Next on the list of things to do to attract some porting coders is to change the project descriptions and summaries, for porting development.

I certainly don't mean to crap on anyone's parade, but wasn't it decided at some point that our license from MS wasn't compatible with what SourceForge requires?

It's just a listing, and they do require open source licensed code. However, it's unlikely that this won't be ok, as Microsoft themselves seemed to have placed code on sourceforge themselves.
Anyway, the subversion mirror still isn't on sourceforge. Won't seem to have anything that will happen to the sourceforge listing, it's been there for a long time.
Here's the imformation on the site itself
Operating System: All 32-bit MS Windows (95/98/NT/2000/XP), OS Portable (Source code to work with many OS platforms), Console-based Platforms
License: Other/Proprietary License, Public Domain
Category: First Person Shooters, Real Time Strategy, Simulation, Internet, 3D Rendering, Sound/Audio (Manage Feedback)

I think sourceforge would make a good portal for our development. It would be much more public, I only see good coming from it.
Our current FAZ dev board is hidden as it is..

As long as Microsofts release agreement is compatible with SourceForges requirements.Your_Persona wrote:QUOTE (Your_Persona @ Aug 6 2006, 05:39 AM) I think sourceforge would make a good portal for our development.
While the FAZ dev board is hidden (for some good reasons), the FAZ forum is not, nor is the code base, nor is Allegzilla.Your_Persona wrote:QUOTE (Your_Persona @ Aug 6 2006, 05:39 AM) It would be much more public, I only see good coming from it.

I don't see it being much more public other than it can be found via a source forge search. Last time I checked source forge it provided, a discussion forum (parts of which could be private to a core group), a bug reporting facility, a download facility, and code hosting facility. We have all of that with a better interface (for the most part).
But I am open to ideas of what might be gained from being fully on source forge, we can either implement them here or make the move if there were a compelling reason. However I don't see such a compelling reason.

One thing that definitely would be useful is that you can advertise for help in development, for example for a code port to OpenGL, but that would require proper project management and tasking. And you get the advantage of binary and source code hosting on many mirrors.
Anyway, there will always be the need for more people to step up to the task.
