This is a list of 'Allegiance phenomenons' (otherwise known as Allegiance Meme) that has come about mainly through web forum dialog on Alleg.net and past Allegiance community websites, but in some cases in the actual game itself.

Allegiance Meme

Doninator

A new player who presumably had nothing better to say than his own name (ad infinitum), Doninator received several bans for spamming the chat. However, a cult has developed around the figure, who wear a tag on the Allegiance forum containing "doninator Doninator DONINATOR!", and eagerly await his return (Source needed).

Unknown to the cult, Doninator still plays the game under a different nick.

Example:
  • Somebody posts: DONINATOR!
  • Lots reply: DONINATOR! DONINATOR! DONINATOR!

@FTW

Yanlin, a new player to the allegiance community, tried to create a new squad called 'For The Win!' Because of Yanlin's poor reputation and silly outlook for the squad; @FTW quickly turned into a joke within the Allegiance community.

The squad was never created.

Example: Yanlin@FTW

Noir For Comm

When there are no commanders volunteering to take over a team, one common suggestion by waiting players is 'Noir for comm!' or 'NFC!' The joke comes from Noir's outright refusal to command. This eventually branched off into several players using the feedback tool to repeatedly leave the "Good Commander" feedback for Noir.

This was halted when Pook threatened to give a 2 minute ban, repeated every day for a year, to those who spammed the feature.

Penis Penis

Aeris (or Pos_21), the squad leader of Palidor's Knights, has been known on IRC for having, on several occasions, left his computer unattended and unlocked, while a friend (unbeknownst to Aeris) typed profanities on IRC, posing as Aeris. His friend also decided to log into the Allegiance forums and leave a lengthier post (NSFW)l describing, in great detail, Aeris' supposed preference for male genitalia. The thread was promptly deleted.

It was after this incident that Aeris decided to begin locking his computer, saying "Remember kids, windows key + L".

Snakez

Technoflux heavy interceptors are often called 'Snakez'. This led to a lot of Technoflux teams getting called "ON A PLANE!" This originally emerged around the theater release of the movie and was modified to reflect the strange speech of Vegeta, who spawned this phenomenon.

Example: We've got snakez!!

Origin: Mastametz

Source: Vegeta/ "SnakeZ on a Plane"

STFN (Shoot the %&$!ing Nan)

This term became the battlecry of many an annoyed vet who watched a clueless newbie fly at a bombrun and only shoot the bomber, completely ignoring the trail of nanite equipped scouts behind it. This has nearly 0 effect in most cases, and merely provides the turrets of said bomber with a free and easy kill.

Example: STFN IDIOTS

Two Weeks™

This was originally associated with Your_Persona's confident (and false) prediction several years ago that he would have automated player statistics up and running within two weeks. The phrase gained fame after he failed to produce such a system. Player statistics were eventually added back into the game in a limited form we now see today which is part of the Allegiance ELO ranking system (Source needed).

Example: FAZ5 will be ready in Two Weeks™

______ IS CHEATING FACE THE FACTS!

This was originally posted in the rants forum several years ago as "KB IS CHEATING FACE THE FACTS!!!", in which the poster considered KB (kill bonus) to be 'cheating' and everybody else needed to 'face facts!', it quickly turned into meme as more and more Allegiance community members began jokingly posting what they thought was cheating (Source needed).

Example: TEAMWORK IS CHEATING FACE THE FACTS!!1

Internet Meme

Below are some memes within the Allegiance community that are also common on the internet.

+1

Also sometimes stated as Postcount +1, refers to users posting in a topic with little or no other purpose as to increase their overall postcount. Sometimes can be used as a joke, but often is seen as a No Comment, or lack of anything to say on account of the thread at large being overly silly, useless, or dead.

On the older forums administrators could stamp the "spammer" tag on a player, which also zeroed his post count. Some players "took advantage" of that feature by turning the "+1" meme in "+0" as their post count would not be modified by such a post.

Example: Agreed.
+1 :D

Cookies

Some users may show gratitude by stating that they are presenting other users with a cookie. It may also be used as a recognition of a embarrassing moment or failure, in a slightly condescending but friendly manner.

Example: Shiz gets a cookie for ramming that con out
Example: Its okay MrC, have a cookie, we all hit rocks sometimes

Sammiches

Users sometimes show dominance by requesting that another user (make them a 'sammich'). This is purposefully misspelled to reflect the possibly intoxicated nature of the original post.

Example: STFU, and make me a sammich noob!

______ is a LIE!!!

This is seen under various topics, usually when one user is calling another user's facts into question, a third user will post: ________ is a lie!, repeating it some number of times similar to a chant. Usually preceded by comments like "You can't have your cake and eat it too!" (GLaDOS begs to differ there).

Example: The cake is a lie
The cake is a lie
The cake is a lie
The cake is a lie
