Over the years, many people have created callsigns that have been long forgotten due to people leaving the community, or forgetting they have created the callsign. These have been left in the database unused, preventing active players from reclaiming them to use for themselves.
Periodically, the administrators will reclaim these unused callsigns for the benefit of the community's members.
When are callsigns reclaimed?
The first callsign reclamation occurred on August 22nd, 2008, and freed up 52,663 separate callsigns. After this date, a callsign reclamation will be performed at the same time callsign resets are performed, which is typically every six months in the summers and winters.
Which callsigns are reclaimed?
When a reclamation is performed, all callsigns that match the following criteria will be reclaimed, allowing active users to create and use them:
- The callsign has never logged into ASGS after being created
- The callsign was created at least 1 month ago
- The callsign is inactive (the activation link was never clicked) and is at least 3 years old
- The callsign is not in a list of reserved callsigns (such as Titty_Baby)
Can I have a list of all reclaimed callsigns?
Unfortunately no. The FreeAllegiance Organization respects every member's privacy, including those who have chosen to no longer be a member and leave. Because of this, we will not divulge any information entered on our systems to the public.
How can I tell if ________ has been reclaimed?
If you want to know whether or not a specific callsign has been reclaimed, you can try to create it yourself using the New Account page. If the callsign is available, it will be created. If not, you will receive an error.
How can I reclaim a callsign?
You can reclaim an old callsign by creating it as if it were a new one. Simply visit the New Account page and create the callsign of your choosing. The same restrictions apply to reclaimed callsigns as apply to brand new callsigns:
- Users are allowed only 3 callsigns on their account at any time. If you already use 3 callsigns, you must wait for the next Callsign Reset
- Profanity and special symbols are not allowed
- Callsigns are restricted to 12 alphanumeric characters
- The callsign cannot already be in use by another member
I want to use ______ as my callsign, but it's still in use. Can you reclaim that one too?
No. If your desired callsign has not already been reclaimed, then the callsign is still in use by an active member of our community. If you believe your desired callsign is inactive, then there is a possibility that it will be reclaimed in six months the next time callsigns are reclaimed. You will need to remain patient and hopeful for your desired callsign in the future.
