'Narrator: 'In this video you will learn how to aim dumbfire missiles. Dumbfires are high damage missiles with poor tracking.
All missiles inherit the velocity of their firing ship. Dumbfire missiles do not lead their target, but instead aim directly for the target.
<zoom in, highlight momentum indicator - freeze>
To hit a fleeing enemy with dumbfires, fly behind the enemy and align your momentum indicator near the back of the enemy.
<unfreeze, zoom out after one dumbfire hits>
Dumbfires act the same with or without lock, so don't wait for a lock if your target is in range.
<command view>
Watching from command view, we can see the missiles fly in a straight line.
<section on dumbfires missing>
This time, I am moving sideways and my momentum indicator is not aimed at the enemy. My missiles all miss the target.
<command view>
From command view, the missiles attempt to curve and hit the target. However, they overshoot and miss.
<head-on section>
It is also possible to hit enemies head-on. Fly directly towards the enemy, and fire when in range.
<command view>
Note that not all of my missiles hit. The last missile missed as it could not turn around and chase the target.
