The Scout
Introduction
If all the ships in Allegiance where parts of the body the scout would be the skeleton, everything else can exist without the skeleton but it doesn't work or look as well as it should. The most usefull ship out of them all. The main reason why this ship is covered in the final week is because as you may have noticed the one ship that is needed at the start and at the end of a game is The Scout.
Why is the scout soooo great, well it is the only ship capable (besides a few belter ships) that can mount the nanite repair gun, something that is essential to the survival of the ships in your game. When a call is made to defend something, although guns that kill will help they are not the guns that will keep things alive. Keep that in mind next time you're asked to defend a dieing ship.
A scout can also load ews probes, that is how you know what is going on in the game, by probing.
Scout Strenghts
- Nanite repair gun, the most powerfull weapon in Allegiance, no other gun can compare to the anti-destructive capabilities of this weapon.
- High Scan Range, no other ship can see as much as you can when you are flying in your scout.
- Variety of weapons, as long as you load your scout correctly, you will have a ship that is capable of completing any task that it is given. You have available 3 different main weapon choices, 3 different missile choices and two different mine packs. Each weapon and missile have their advantages in different aspects of the game.
- Ricord, after leaving base and aslong as there are teleport recievers or carriers out on the map, your ship can be there in 10 seconds. Also if you're being attacked you have the ability to teleport away from the danger and back to safety.
- High Speed, unless other ships boost they will strugle to catch you.
Scout Weaknessess
- Weak Hull, if you come under attack there is a good chance you will be dead in under 5 seconds.
- No Booster, while TF/Belt scouts have them others do not and it does take a bit of time to get to top speed.
Scout vs. All
Scouts aren't really made to go head to head with other ships, although in the hands of a good pilot they can against the low tier ships. Speed is key here, getting to top speed and staying there. Against all ships you want them to be behind you always.
- Drop prox and keep flying straight.
- Get away from their high scan range units bases/miners/scouts then go low sig and you will have the advantage.
