Introduction

In this section we will take a look at how to use your fighter for offensive purposes.

The Swarm

Fighters are at their strongest when flying in a group of four or more, the more you can get in your group the better. It is because of their variety of weapon choices. When organising a strike on a miner or constructor, it is possible to have fighters equipped to take out nans, fighters equipped with mine packs only, fighters equipped with missiles only etc. It all comes down to what is needed to get the job done, so when preparing and flying with other fighters communicate and let the rest of the group know what it is you intend to do.

The pw gattling gun does decent damage to utility craft but what damages more are dumbfires.

Attacking Miners

A group of fighters can easily overwhelm a few nans if they all attack at the same time.

Miner at the rock

This is when a miner is happily sucking he3 from a rock.

• Boost to that miner remembering to stop boosting so you don't fly past it.
• If you are flying toward the miners and can see its side start firing your dumbfires at around 1k.
• Ignore the defenders but take out any nans that are nanning.

Miner en route

This is when a miner is moving from sector to sector.

• Boost to the miner and get into position behind the miner. If you are coming from in front drop a minepack and fire missles.
• Once you are in position start firing your dumbfires and shooting your guns.
• Watch out for prox and take out any nans.

Attacking Constructors

It is always better to kill a constructor before it reaches a rock, things will get alot harder for the attackers and alot easier for the defenders.

Constructor at the rock

This is when the con is linning up to fly into the rock.

• Ram it! Nothing else matters at this point, just ram it good.
• Fire your missiles and shoot your guns at the con.
• Ram it again, it doesn't matter if you get podded as long as you stop that con from lining up and flying into the rock, you will be giving vital time to your team mates who should be attacking nans and the con.
• Ignore defenders except for nans.

Constructor en route

This is when the con is still flying to its destination.

• If you are in front of the con drop some mines.
• Get into position behind the con and start firing your dumbfires, when you get closer shoot your guns.
• Take out any nans.
