It is quarterly auditing time here at the DataNet, so most of the reporters have been busy. We have, however, received a new lead.
As you may recall, Gigacorp's primary Command is stationed in orbit around Mars. Following the recent defeat of the infamous Rixian Bloody Lance Order by a Federation task force and the Federation's occupation of the nearby colony, the Gigacorp message relay probes have been bustling with activity. From our intelligence gathering, it seems clear that Gigacorp is worried about the 'safety' of the many other colonies it has economic relationships with, especially the Mars colonies. With the Federation massing on a direct aleph chain to Mars, it stands to reason that this was not the last time we have heard from them.
So far Gigacorp has responded by claiming a small resource-rich asteroid field in the Belt last week and has been setting up propulsion units on resource rocks to send them into Mars orbit. They have made good progress so far, managing to remove every Carbon asteroid in the area.
However this action has not gone unnoticed. Gigacorp luxury scouts have reported tracing Bios heavy scout signatures in the nearby area. Who knows what the Bios are planning, but I am sure they do not want the remaining Silicon and Uranium asteroids to reach safe locations on the human side.
The Bios might be planning on re-routing the remaining roids to their home, but it's entirely possible that they just want to slam asteroids into Mars. Despite humanity's expansion into space and the rapid development of new weaponry since the tragedy of Earth, it is unclear whether any faction would be able to stop dozens of asteroids, especially if the Bios steal the propulsion units, attach them to asteroids from random sections of space, and send them in under the protection of Bios cloaking technology.

The recent defeat of GigaCorp has shaken the giant corporation to the core. Top analysts and executives are analysing the data, trying to find out how the Bios managed to defeat them.
The corporation refused to give an official comment on the result of the battle, but it is clear that serious and radical measures are being enacted as the Bios are in possession of large asteroids which could be used as powerful kinetic weapons should they decide to launch them on a collision course with Mars. Some key figures within the GigaCorp chain of command have been removed and replaced. The internal turmoil of evacuation measures is clearly visible from several AUs away as GigaCorp seems to be preparing for the worst, though some analysts from DataNet have speculated that if Bios was planning to use the asteroids offensively they would have done it by now, using the element of surprise to maximise the damage to the planet.
GigaCorp security measures have tripled since the battle and their fleets seem to be forming an impenetrable wall around Mars, with any unauthorised object entering within 10,000km of the planet being swiftly neutralised. The Iron Coalition has put a whole Fleet on standby, and has pledged to send aid to GigaCorp should the worst happen.
This announcement by the Coalition, previously considered to be the prime nemesis of GigaCorp has thrown the stellar situation into perspective. The Coalition evidently wishes to maintain the balance of power throughout the system and use it to its own advantages. The GigaCorp command station on Mars makes for a buffer against a possible Federation advance into the solar system, a buffer the Coalition is eager to maintain given its crushing defeats at the hands of the Federation.
The Belters, however, after their recent break down of relations with GigaCorp have declined to make a similar offer. And as to whether the Bios will attempt a full scale attack on Mars, only time will tell. The asteroids themselves have not been detected since the battle.
