As you might remember, Iron Coalition and Belter forces defeated two Rixian lances earlier this month.

I still am unclear on the specifics of the IC/Belter alliance because this particular Belter force has been more secretive than usual, but information has been gradually leaking out, and -- by the sound of it -- one side will have to give the other "something" or there's going to be some fighting.

It's unclear if both sides are looking for "something" that the Rixians left behind when they evacuated, or if the Rixians were looking for the same thing, but it's bound to be important if both sides want it so bad! Or it just might be a Rixian floor cleaner. Place your bets now.

Here's what we got from a Belter pilot who chose to remain anonymous:

Start Message----

Just so you know, we're all still stationed here. So are the IC fellas. The high brass has been discussing division of something, aleph chains, salvage, whatever. We thought it was over until a scout brought back something they won't talk about to us other pilots. Seems the salvage teams missed whatever it was, but it seems important enough that the brass have reopened talks. Too bad they aren't getting anywhere. We've been told to keep sharp, because talks might break down any time now.

Another scout saw something for a split second. Couldn't tell what it was, but it was either some Bios scout or those new guys. We still don't know what kind of tech they have. Might've been a space rock too, who knows?

End Message----

I'm sure GigaCorp will be all over this one too. They've got eyes on the DataNet too.

As always, we'll keep you posted of developments.

Date: 28JAN2158/File: 00215 - Iron Coalition Triumphant

Report filed by: "Nick_H"

The Iron Coalition, long thought to be one of the weakest spacer factions following a string of successive losses, has managed to hold the ground it gained from the Rixians, defeating their former Belter allies, a Bios fleet, and a GigaCorp expedition. It seems that the Iron Coalition still has some of the greatest military minds in active operations, and that their exceptionally strong base and hull designs offer them a great advantage in interstellar conflict.

The Belter faction was cornered in a sector of space with excellent resources, but was eventually overrun. Perhaps the Bios have been focusing on aggression with their ever-evolving synthetic breeds because they attempted to use brute force rather than stealth to combat the IC, and the IC are not a faction to be brute-forced. After the Belters and Bios were defeated, the IC focused their energy on GigaCorp and successfully overpowered them, the sheer power of Iron Coalition capital ships crushing Giga forces already weakened by fighting with the Bios.

After taking a few days to gather salvage and mine out the surrounding area, the Iron Coalition has moved on. They have apparently captured whatever salvage it was that they could not agree to share with the Belters, and have proceeded deeper into space. It's unclear where this particular IC fleet is going but one thing is certain, anyone underestimating the strength of this fleet or any other IC fleet does so unwisely.
