I'm basically paying $200 per month for an unused server right now. I never updated Allegiance server to work with Steam waiting to see how well BackTrak servers are doing considering he has free credit to use on them. There were some complaints initially, but that was mostly before he added the East US. Haven't heard much since, so is Allegiance fine without my server? I'm sure the network isn't equivalent to my dedicated server, but not worth worrying about if the current servers are 95% as good.
I had held onto this server a bit because I really like the host and I'm not sure I can get this pricing again for the same specs. Hard to know since you have to contact them and negotiate pricing. This is a much better deal than I had on my last server with this company though.
I will be making a decision within 24 hours, if not much sooner to help ensure I can cancel before having to pay an additional month.
Happy with the current servers?
The servers we have now feel very stable, not at ALL like what happened when steam was first released. Any problems with the game so far have been CTDs not realted to server hiccups... or the result of code issues that would happen on any server.
Example: there's a weird bug where if an AI ship is attacked by a tower, it'll spam "under attack" each time it's hit which can make things INCREDIBLY laggy. But that'd happen on any server. Also the banning AI drones bug.

Don't find fault, find a remedy; anybody can complain.
