Hi
Installed and booted up Alleg after god knows how long. I am however unable to get to the lobby.
I am assuming the servers are not dead, and the problem is limited to me only, as I am the only one complaining about it right now.
However, it is also possible that the servers are dead and no one is complaining because no one is playing?
If someone could initially just confirm where this is just me or not, so I know if I need to troubleshoot on my end.
Thanks
Unable to connect to lobby
Yeah, same here, I just had a weak moment and installed alleg, but... Failed to connect to lobby. Tried to turn off antivir, firewall... Nothing working. If you found out what to do, let me know.TheDevil™ wrote:QUOTE (TheDevil™ @ Jul 9 2017, 12:35 AM) Hi

Hello, After launching the game using the Free Allegiance Security Client (ACSS - Allegiance Community Security System) the main program comes up, a large allegiance logo, with three round clickable buttons along the bottom. If you click on the button labelled 'free games' then 'current games listings' should be click-able and the MOTD should scroll down. If you don't see anything at all in the rectangular box, and the 'games list' button is unclick-able (grey-out) then check to make sure that INTERNET EXPLORER the web browser is NOT SET TO OFFLINE MODE.
The game requires internet explorer in online mode to function.
If I.E. browser is offline mode, the Message of the Day will not appear and the current game listing button will be un-clickable.
Don't know if that's the problem you are having, just happen to know of this particular 'gotcha'.
Free Allegiance Security Client --> Allegiance.exe --> 'free games' button --> 'games list' button --> game lobby with list of games

Enabling Direct Play worked. Thank you, I would suggest to put it in the first info window after install, since win10 is used more often and new ppl will just take it as non-functional game, if they don't know this.Djole88 wrote:QUOTE (Djole88 @ Jul 10 2017, 10:10 AM) install direct play:

Same, enabling fixed it.
Might want to update installer with a link to our wiki page which might instructions.
Edit: With some further research, we can enable it with cmd bat file. The command is QUOTE DISM /online /enable-feature /featurename:LegacyComponents[/quote], since I don't code I dont know if this feasible to execute from a installer?
