G1: Ryu forfeits by virtue of being 30 minutes late.

G2:

Phoenix1 (TF Sup/Adv Exp) vs Ryujin (Rix Adv Exp)

1.25/1.15, Hi Higher

My team goes out to find me a U rock. We don't find one but I decide on a hunch to go midlow since that's where babs and P32 are. When we find a U rock midlow, I redirect my opening op to high to take a little more map. It gets seen so I plant it short. Meanwhile my TP plants perfectly and I rip an expansion (and a second op) to it. The rock is very close to where Ryu eventually places his exp, so I put an op in his expansion to cover my butt. Some miner offense attempts occur on both sides, ours a little more... effective. We bag a miner and continue to mine happily as I get an op to push low. Unfortunately Ryu has a similar idea so we both end up planting short beginning the extended miner suicide runs by my team. We constantly throw ourselves at the meat grinder until I tell my team, "just pod as many as you can and build KBs, we'll get the miners next time." Team complies and after some KB building with deliciously cheesy interceptors we bag a miner or two. Ryu tries to mine middle and gets a rock out of it and also has a miner thumped. We get hvy ints at about the same time and I decide that it's time for my team to think about ending the game: we go for hvy bbrs. Ryu gets HTTs and gets an HTT dangerously close to our exp so I dump $1500 in beacons to make sure it doesn't happen again. Just as we're about to begin our slow, steamroll to victory, Ryu resigns to get another game going.

GG ryu, was fun! Thanks team for flying for me! You all did really well.

You did great at constantly communicating about everything. So important at getting us all to work together.

I just want to say to blue team that, whether or not you believe it, I wasn't drawing out the game on purpose. When that HTT slipped past our OP, I decided to shift into conservative mode and slowly do things so we didn't lose to a random HTT. The plan was to put an op/tp high, bomb your garr, take your garr with an op, bomb your exp. I was waiting for hvy bbrs, ms 2, and hvy scouts before we tried any kind of bombing (as well as sup for AB2/GAs) because I didn't want to throw my team into a pile of rix mini2 hvies without some super nice bombing tech.

I think I spent more on beacons that game than you did on tps and refs lol.

P1: "If you ask for a $600 scout, I will give it to you".

He did, too.

Out of curiosity, how would beacons help you not fall to an HTT run? Were you talking about Skycap turrets or something?

Are beacons better than actual probes for that purpose?
