Rank Resets. Really guys, I've heard it's "in the works".
How $#@!ing hard can it be? Just do it already. Do it once every three months.
Remember when you used to be able to see who is online in the front page? Why was this removed, and how $#@!ing hard can it be to bring it back?
Seriously.
2 easy things that will make more people play more often
Rank resets are a terrible idea.
Explanation: there are two reasons why people want rank resets:
One, they think people perceive their rank as not moving fast enough, and fear they will get frustrated and lose interest in playing. But that's not the case; most people, and especially newbies have ridiculously high sigmas and WILL move up if they play more. How do you dip@#(!s think I got my (15)? Show me a single player who has more than 100 games and has plateaued at a low rank (that they honestly don't deserve). Before we "fix" anything, let's make sure there's a problem first.
Two, they perceive that ranks are inaccurate -- by which they mean, they expect rank to reflect skill, and are disappointed when they see strong players with low ranks and vice versa. Well, a rank reset will practically guarantee inaccurate ranks for everybody. Again, when AS doesn't have much information about you, your sigma is high and your rank is far more correlated with time-in-game than it is with skill.
What you will actually accomplish with a rank reset: everyone will be a Novice, except for TenForward, because he plays all the time, and if at this point anyone still cares about the now completely bull@#(! leaderboard, they can put in the hours to reach the top only to see their hard work erased back to zero with the next reset.
Way to go, you really fixed Allegiance.
Edit: I suppose there's a third reason, which I'll charitably call "P32 envy". In which case, get over yourselves ...

Or maybe rank resets will cause more competiton, and make stacking harder... if nothing else it will draw high ranked vets out of the closet for a week or three to reclaim thier spotcashto wrote:QUOTE (cashto @ Sep 4 2014, 08:12 PM) Rank resets are a terrible idea.

And how will rank resets create any less accurate ranks then we have now?
For once I do agree with elzam
But thanks for even considering my idea Cash... I'm sure you did before calling it terrible.
Oh wait, no this discussion has been had a long time ago, and you decided against it then, and won't even give it a second thought now.
